Store Associate (Part Time) - Lorton, VA

Store Associate

About the Role

Store Associates keep our stores running strong, delivering the fast, customer‑focused experience that makes Lidl a global leader. This is a dynamic, "all-hands" role where your impact is visible every hour. You’ll support every part of daily operations — from checkout and stocking to bakery, produce, and weekly promotional setups — all in one shift.

We thrive in a structured, team-based environment where clear efficiency standards and operational execution drive results. If you take pride in ownership, enjoy working at a high pace, and want to learn a global business from the ground up, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Do

  • Engage customers with friendly, efficient service that makes their trip easy and leaves them excited to shop at Lidl again
  • Seamlessly transition between checkout, stocking, and specialized areas like bakery or produce to meet real-time store needs
  • Meet productivity goals by working with urgency and following Lidl’s streamlined processes, including pallet-to-shelf stocking
  • Execute daily freshness checks in produce and chilled areas, ensuring all items meet Lidl’s quality and presentation standards
  • Set up and organize non-food promotional displays and weekly offers, ensuring strong presentation, accurate signage and pricing
  • Keep the store looking its best by upholding Lidl’s high cleanliness standards across the sales floor, restrooms, warehouse, and parking lot
  • Create a smooth, efficient checkout experience by operating the register quickly and accurately – this includes memorizing produce price look-up codes (PLUs)
  • Handle customer inquiries, process returns, and professionally resolve or escalate customer issues as they arise
  • Help keep inventory accurate and stock-loss low by sticking to inventory control measures
  • Ensure a safe environment for both team members and customers by following all safety procedures and operational guidelines
  • Work closely with the team to complete daily tasks on time, ensuring smooth store operations for the next shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
