Sales Assistant – JD Sports Fashion Plc

Role Overview
This opportunity offers an enabling career pathway for Sales Assistants within the JD Group. Salary on start for this role is:
- Hourly rate: £12.81
As a Sales Assistant, you will play a core role in ensuring our customers receive an exceptional shopping experience. With a strong focus on career development, JD Group is an ideal place if you seek progression and enjoy broadening your skillset.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by:
- Warmly greeting customers
- Understanding the customer service measurement programme
- Drive sales success by:
- Utilising in-store devices
- Offering the full product range
- Maximising add-on sales opportunities
- Maintain high visual and merchandising standards by:
- Ensuring the shop floor is clean, well-stocked, and organised
- Following brand guidelines for displays
- Support overall store operations by:
- Assisting other departments as required
- Representing the company professionally
- Adhering to safety guidelines
- Process sales transactions accurately, including:
- Cash handling
- Card payments
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximise sales, and:
- Maintain stock levels
- Ensure shelves are well-organised and appealing
- Address and resolve customer queries in a professional manner
- Work collaboratively with teams to meet store performance targets

Role Objectives & KPIs
- Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target
- Drive additional KPIs, including but not limited to:
- Units sold
- Conversion rate
- Average Transaction Value (ATV)
- Units Per Transaction (UPT)
- Achieve upselling or cross-selling targets
- Maintain a high Net Promoter Score (NPS)
- Ensure all stock on the shop floor is fully replenished
Required Skills & Experience
- Enthusiasm for a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment
- Motivation to growth under challenge, seeking opportunities to develop and learn
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in customer interactions
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, based on store requirements
