We’re Pentland Brands: a global family business behind some of the world’s most iconic active and lifestyle brands. We bring integrity, energy and ambition to our work, setting high standards and striving to deliver great outcomes without ego. Design swimwear built for movement, confidence and performance in the water. At Speedo, product has to do more than look good. It has to move with the swimmer, feel comfortable in the water and support performance, confidence and freedom of movement, whether someone is training, competing, learning or simply enjoying the swim. The Store Design & Visual Merchandising Manager supports the delivery of Speedo’s global retail experience across physical retail environments and connected digital touchpoints. Working closely with the Global Head of Retail Experience, Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Go-To-Market, Commercial, Digital and regional teams, this role translates retail strategy, experience principles and seasonal storytelling into practical store design and visual merchandising tools. The role ensures Speedo’s brand, product stories and campaign moments are brought to life consistently and effectively across owned retail, wholesale, distributor and partner environments. What you’ll be doing: Translate global retail experience strategy into clear, practical store design and visual merchandising execution across physical retail formats. Develop and maintain seasonal VM and store design toolkits, ensuring global direction is easy for markets and partners to understand and implement. Produce and adapt store layouts, zoning plans, fixture layouts and VM guidance across flagships, shop-in-shops, wholesale doors and distributor environments. Support new store openings, refurbishments, resets and seasonal updates by coordinating design development, execution readiness and post-launch reviews. Ensure retail executions reflect Speedo’s brand standards, campaign priorities, product stories and commercial objectives. Support the translation of retail storytelling, navigation principles and product journeys into speedo.com and priority digital retail touchpoints where required. Partner with regional teams, distributors and retail partners to support local execution, answer queries and ensure guidelines are applied consistently. Work with agency, production and supplier partners to support concept translation, fixture development, artwork delivery and rollout activity. Track store design and VM deliverables, timelines and approvals, escalating risks or blockers where needed. Conduct store visits, visual audits and execution reviews, providing clear feedback and recommendations to improve standards. Capture market feedback, best practice and execution learnings to improve future toolkits, layouts and VM guidance. Collaborate with Brand, Product Marketing, GTM, Commercial and Digital teams to ensure retail execution supports wider seasonal and business priorities. What you’ll bring: Experience in store design, visual merchandising, retail marketing or retail execution, ideally within sport, lifestyle, performance or consumer brands. Strong understanding of how global retail and VM guidelines are translated across different store formats, markets and partner environments. Hands-on experience producing or adapting layouts, zoning plans, fixture plans, VM guidelines and retail toolkits. Strong visual judgement, attention to detail and understanding of how brand and product stories come to life in retail. Experience working with external agencies, suppliers, production partners, regional teams or retail partners. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple seasonal projects, deadlines and deliverables. Confident communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and feedback to markets and partners. Proficiency with relevant store design, VM or creative tools such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Vectorworks or Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial. Collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment. This vacancy is a newly created role as part of organisational changes. Final appointment will depend upon the outcome of consultation processes and affected employees will have priority for consideration. Why Speedo? I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
