Store Manager – Kings Heath
40 hours per week 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM shift availability required
About the Role
At Toolstation, we’re not just looking for what you can bring to us today—we’re investing in your future. This isn’t your average Store Manager job. It’s about leading by example, empowering teams, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
You’ll manage the branch day-to-day, but you’ll also roll up your sleeves—assisting teams, handling deliveries, stocking shelves, and ensuring every customer leaves satisfied. Expect physical demands (hot summers, cold winters) but rewarding rewards: fostering a high-performing culture, motivating employees, and setting industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Service Excellence
- Deliver exceptional customer service—our team’s actions shape how customers remember us.
- Drive sales through proactive engagement and personalised assistance.
Operations & Engagement
- "Mucking in" with the team: unpack deliveries, open/close the branch, stock shelves, clean, and fulfil orders.
- Maintain high branch standards—product availability, presentation, and customer interactions.
Team Leadership & Development
- Cultivate a positive work culture built on feedback, praise, and recognition.
- Coordinate team motivation, succession planning, and professional growth.
- Ensure employees have clear career paths to support long-term business success.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
