Store Manager

Store Manager – Community Retail (Small Stores) | Boots

About the Role

Are you an experienced retail leader who cares deeply about people, great customer service, and building strong teams?

At Boots, our smaller community stores are at the heart of where people live, love, and thrive. Guided by our purpose—"With you. For life."—you’ll support both your customers and colleagues through the moments that truly matter.

With new products, services, and local partnerships continually evolving, you’ll bring Boots’ offerings to life in ways that resonate with your neighbourhood. There’s no cookie-cutter approach here—you’ll come to recognise regulars by name and foster genuine, personalised connections. Whether they’re picking up daily essentials or seeking trusted healthcare advice, your team will craft a store that’s not just a shopping destination, but a warm, welcoming hub people feel proud to be part of.

As Store Manager, you’ll lead a tight-knit team with a can-do attitude, fostering a culture of support, positivity, and continuous growth. You’ll roll up your sleeves on the shop floor, understand what drives your colleagues, and empower them to build confidence and capability—turning great care into great commerce, every day.

This role is for someone who thrives on combining retail leadership, pharmacy expertise, customer relations, community engagement, and commercial acumen, while making a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting directly to the Area Manager, this hands-on leadership role requires energy, ownership, and deep commitment. You’ll lead your store with purpose, balancing day-to-day operations with strategic vision—always putting people first while ensuring performance excellence.

  • Lead and inspire your team to deliver exceptional service, blending compassion with commercial ambition
  • Drive sales and store profitability, aligning customer happiness with financial goals
  • Build trusted relationships with local GP surgeries, primary care networks, and community groups, embedding Boots into the heartbeat of the area
  • Deliver innovative NHS and private healthcare services confidently—providing clear, expert advice that people trust
  • Roll out new initiatives, products, and technologies with your team, ensuring seamless adoption
  • Be the brand’s advocate, incorporating Boots’ values into everything you do and setting your store apart
  • Know your team individually—what excites them, what challenges them, and how to nurture their growth
  • Coach and mentor team members, helping them develop confidence, skills, and leadership potential
  • Stay curious and adaptable, using data, insights, and creative thinking to continually enhance the store experience

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
