Store Manager
Store Manager – Saltrock (Coastal Lifestyle Brand)

The Role
We’re seeking a fun, energetic, and highly motivated individual to step into our exciting contract position (40-hour week). This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned retail professional, someone with impeccable visual merchandising standards, or a supervisor looking to progress into a Store Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
Relationships
- Proactively build and maintain professional commercial relationships across the business, ensuring Saltrock’s needs are met.
- Collaborate closely with Head Office, Distribution Centre (DC), and the retail team to make store-level, data-driven commercial decisions.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service—engage and proactively sell to customers to create a warm, welcoming, and positive experience.
- Enforce company policy adherence, particularly health and safety standards, to protect both staff and customers.
- Maintain stringent security awareness through compliance with all company security procedures.
- Lead a team that ensures daily standards are exceeded.
Sales & Financial Performance
- Accurately manage the commercial file: monitor sales, update reporting, and use insights to drive decisions and opportunities.
- Strictly adhere to markdown scheduling and pricing protocols to maximise profitability.
- Ensure efficient staffing levels—align coverage with peak trade periods to hit sales targets.
- Oversee expense controls to optimise budget usage.

Stock, Maintenance & Visual Standards
- Maintain high housekeeping and appearance standards in-store and stockrooms for a healthy, inviting environment.
- Oversee stock management: track losses, manage markdowns, and monitor replenishment levels to avoid gaps.
- Apply visual merchandising principles to maximise product visibility and appeal. Ensure displays are commercial yet artistic.
- Handle timely deliveries, stock presentations, and restocking efficiently.
- Maintain highest visual and cleanliness standards, reflecting Saltrock’s unique lifestyle brand aesthetic.
People & Team Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, and develop talent aligned with Saltrock’s values. Manage all probationary periods and timed evaluations.
- Deliver structured inductions to new team members, ensuring competency checks and Head Office liaison.
- Coach and mentor team members to refine their skills, boost performance, and address disciplinary concerns fairly.
- Foster a motivated, high-spirit team, driving customer-focused excellence as Saltrock ambassadors.
- Maximise sales conversion: ensure staff capitalise on every opportunity provided by the shop floor.
- Proactively benchmark performance against competitors and share insights with Head Office.
Communication & Administration
- Execute all corporate paperwork and tasks diligently and on time.
- Deploy and maintain communication systems for team alignment, line managers, and head offices.
- Ensure all communications—internal and external—remain clear, courteous, and diplomatic.
- Share commercial results and action points effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements
- Retail experience required—excellent track record of sales, leadership, and hands-on management.
- Strong visual merchandising skills, evident through creative and commercial presentation.

- Ability to solve problems quickly in fast-paced retail environments.
- Attention to detail when handling paperwork, budgets, and compliance tasks.
- Regional flexibility—this role can involve travel to surrounding branch meetings (if applicable).
