About the Role
Lead at the heart of one of Boots Opticians’ most prominent stores.
Are you a retail leader who excels at scale, inspires large teams, and thrives in high-profile environments? This isn’t just another Store Manager role—it’s a opportunity to shape a flagship store, where performance, patient care, and unforgettable brand experiences align. Here, your team’s dedication directly impacts how customers see and feel every day.
Our flagship stores represent the best of Boots. They pilot innovation, set industry standards, and demand strong leadership from top to bottom. With a vibrant, well-established team and a fast-paced setting, this role lets you define the tone, drive momentum, and deliver exceptional results.
This is a hands-on leadership position with genuine influence. You’ll set a visible example on the shop floor:
- Coaching in real time amid busy shifts
- Fostering a culture where team members thrive
- Balancing commercial success with outstanding customer patronage. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, leveraging insight and data to continuously elevate the store’s performance.
We’re seeking a leader who develops at scale, with experience managing 20+ colleagues and the authority to unify and uplift them. While optics experience is welcome, our priority is select candidates who: ✔ Lead, deliver, and cultivate a supportive team culture in high-profile environments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
