Store Manager

40 million people wear spectacles in the UK alone, but the optical industry hasn’t changed enough in three centuries. Products are tired, standards are mediocre, and the experience is dull. We're going to change that—and build Cubitts, the world’s most innovative and customer-centric spectacles company.

The Role

As a Store Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind your store’s and team’s success. Leading with energy and purpose, you’ll take full ownership of:

  • Your store’s performance
  • Team development
  • Every customer’s experience

Working closely with your Assistant Manager, you’ll cultivate a team culture that is driven, collaborative, and focused on continuous growth.

You’ll confidently lead commercial performance, using insights to:

  • Optimise operations
  • Grow revenue
  • Deliver outstanding service

At the same time, you’ll champion your team’s progression through:

  • Clear succession planning
  • Personalised development

Success will come from: ✔ How you inspire your team ✔ Your ability to delight customers ✔ Building a high-performing store

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of a high-performing team, with clear succession plans and personalised pathways for every member
  • Drive team engagement and culture, targeting an engagement score of 85%+ and improving retention
  • Accountability for store performance, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with business KPIs
  • Set the standard for service excellence—embed and uphold customer non-negotiables, ensuring outstanding service measured by NPS and mystery shop results
  • Act as a brand ambassador, engaging customers with Cubitts’ story, values, and craft, and supporting activities that attract and retain new audiences
  • Drive excellence in Made to Measure and Bespoke services, partnering with your Assistant Manager to ensure seamless in-store experiences
  • Be an expert in product and optical knowledge, leading complex dispenses and sharing expertise to build your team’s capability
  • Maintain a clean, organised store—use data to optimise visual merchandising and stock, aligning displays with Cubitts’ visual identity to drive sales
  • Collaborate across teams—share insights, drive improvements, and foster a united, high-performance culture
  • Uphold Cubitts’ standards in professionalism, compliance, and integrity, ensuring your team operates within policy and best practice

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
