Crown Paints Store Manager Opportunity

Crown Paints are seeking to recruit a Store Manager to join our fantastic team based in Newbury Park for a 6-month temporary contract.

Role Overview

  • Position: Store Manager
  • Type: 6-month temporary, full-time
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (7am-5pm Monday - Friday and occasional Saturdays 8am-2pm)
  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum + bonus + excellent benefits package

  • Customer Interaction: Expect to take the lead from the front of the store, becoming a familiar and trusted face to customers.
  • Relationship Building: Building relationships is a key part of the role — from getting to know regulars to winning new business through confident prospecting and offering service that stands out from the competition.
  • Ambition and Proactive Thinking: There’s plenty of scope to bring ambition and proactive thinking. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on setting and achieving challenging targets, enjoys problem-solving, and is driven by results.
  • Leadership: Managing and motivating a small team, the role offers the opportunity to coach others, have meaningful conversations, and support strong team performance through structured time and task management.
  • Ownership of Stock: Expect to take ownership of stock — maintaining control, forecasting needs, and keeping the store running smoothly day to day.
  • Commercial Understanding: Get involved in wider store performance, working with financial targets such as profit and loss, monthly KPIs, and margin management.
