About Appleby Westward
Appleby Westward is the SPAR Wholesaler and Retailer covering the West of England, with core operations from our Retail Distribution Centre and Support Offices in Saltash, Cornwall.
Our team of around 2,000 colleagues powers wholesale services for both independent retail outlets and our company-owned SPAR stores, extending across communities from Chichester in the east to Land’s End in the west and as far north as Bristol and Salisbury.

About the Role: Store Manager Pinhoe
We’re seeking a capable, passionate, and результат-driven Store Manager to lead our Pinhoe branch with expertise, dedication, and a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a team of colleagues by fostering strong leadership, employee development, and motivation.
- Achieving financial and sales targets through strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Ensuring top-tier customer service, adapting to user needs, and tailoring convenient local services.
- Maintaining high health and safety standards, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Collaborating to enhance our retail experience, monitoring trends, and recognising opportunities for growth.
- Partnering with SPAR’s regional wholesalers and franchise agreements to optimise services.
- Ensuring accurate manage inventory control, deliver Hudblers a successful task, operational workflow, and financial management.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven retail management experience with a track record of success in team leadership and goal accomplishment.
- Strong commercial awareness—understanding of profitability, financial reporting, and retail economics.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-run environment where agility and relationship-building are vital.
- Clear, concise, and cooperative communication skills, adopted to inspire confidence among colleagues and the public alike.
- Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Additional Considerations:
- Sharp service skills in in-store delivery and ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
- Must be either a Personal Licence Holder or willing to secure one within six weeks of joining.
- Will be subjected to a background check as Post Office security protocols apply.
