About the Role

As a Store Manager at Booker, you’ll have the opportunity to drive business growth and make a real difference. Your role will focus on serving local businesses—cafés, pubs, restaurants, caterers, and retailers—to help them flourish, while ensuring customer needs are met and expanding relationships with local business owners.

Booker is more than just a retailer. Our stores, called Business Centres, play a key role in strengthening towns and communities by offering support beyond products price and quality. From recycling fat for local takeaways to assisting fledgling businesses, we build deeper customer relationships.


Responsibilities

As Store Manager, your passion for the business will drive your team to achieve outstanding results. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading your team, supporting managers, and driving sales.
  • Ensuring the store meets all HEALTH, SAFETY AND LEGAL standards.
  • Taking full responsibility for operational success, positively or problem-solving any challenges.
  • Using expertise to boost customer satisfaction by improving journeys—be proactive, initiative-driven, and focused on growth.
  • Excelling in a multi-faceted role that spans the shop floor, online services, and deliveries.
  • Targeted at businesses that thrives alongside the success of your store.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience in the food sector (preferably commercially driven).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and teams.
  • A reputation as a driven and disciplined manager with strong attention to detail, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • A latent interest/experience in running your own establishment (restaurant, pub etc.) or wholesale backgrounds.
