Store Manager - WHSmith
WHSmith Store Manager – Lead the UK’s Rest Stop Revolution
Location: Winchester Services, M3, Shroner Wood, Winchester SO21 1PP Contract: 40 hours per week Salary: £32,500 per annum (up to £40,820 on completion of performance-based bonus of up to £8,320)

As Store Manager, you’ll provide exceptional service by putting people first, turning every customer visit into a memorable experience. You’ll leadership with confidence, creating a winning culture to transform the UK’s rest stop experience.

Your Responsibilities
- Financial & Business Leadership:
- Hit and exceed budget & P&L targets
- Drive efficiencies in costs, labour, and sales to uplift profitability
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, support, and develop your team, ensuring colleagues feel valued and motivated
- Coach, train, and create succession plans for ongoing growth
- Customer Experience & Brand Standards:
- Deliver exceptional brand standards and customer service
- Operational Excellence:
- Lead busy shifts (open to close) with precision
- Ensure a smooth, high-pressure environment is managed effectively
Requirements & Skills
- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager, Depot Manager or similar in high-volume retail, catering, or hospitality
- Track record of managing budgets, P&L, labour costs
- Strong stakeholder relationships (internal and external)
- Ability to:
- Motivate teams through coaching, training, and succession planning
- Stay calm, decisive, and focused under pressure
