About the Role
We are looking for two dedicated and organised Storekeepers to provide a comprehensive stores service, ensuring the accurate management, control and distribution of all stock, equipment, uniform/PPE and related resources across the Service. This includes maintaining computerised stock management and asset tracking systems, overseeing stock audits, coordinating the receipt and delivery of goods, and delivering an efficient courier service to all Service premises.

Ensure all systems, procedures and work practices meet the highest standards, with direct accountability for monthly and annual stock control audits and other audit checks. Where inaccuracies are identified, instigate an investigation process to identify findings and provide transparency for audit purposes.
- Maintain stock records and analysis using the computerised stock management system, making recommendations for stock increases or reductions based on demand, and identifying areas for improvement in liaison with the Clothing Manager.
- Facilitate the receipt of external deliveries, including stores stock and mail, ensuring all items are processed in line with Service procedures and promptly delivered to the intended recipients.
- Determine and provide a regular stores and courier service to meet operational and administrative requirements, and as otherwise directed, to all Service premises using a light or medium-sized van provided by the Service. Ensure daily courier and mail runs meet operational needs and are efficient and monitored.
- Support Operational Equipment Technicians when required, providing resilience for the charging and maintenance of sufficient BA and inflation cylinder stock to meet operational demand.
- Assist with the ongoing issue of uniform and workwear from Service clothing providers, monitoring quality and stock control compliance.

- Undertake uniform and workwear fittings for new starters and assist with the initial issue of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), uniform and workwear, ensuring employees receive the clothing and equipment needed in a timely manner to meet operational needs.
- Assist the Technical team with maintaining asset tracking systems for Stores products, ensuring a full log of equipment and items is monitored and maintained.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
