Stores and Dispatch Operative

Stores and Dispatch Operative (Stores Person) Shenstone, Lichfield

Salary: GBP 28,000 - GBP 32,000 per annum (DOE) plus healthcare

An established engineering manufacturer specialising in precision-engineered products, where quality, traceability and reliability are their core focus. They pride themselves on producing engineered components with uncompromising standards.


The Role

We are looking for an experienced Stores and Dispatch Operative to take ownership of warehouse, stores and dispatch activities. In this key position, you will ensure:

  • Incoming engineering components are received, stored, controlled and dispatched accurately
  • Stock integrity, product traceability and full compliance with company procedures are maintained

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect and book in incoming goods
  • Store, control and issue stock to production
  • Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders
  • Prepare shipping documentation and arrange courier collections
  • Maintain accurate stock records using the ERP system
  • Carry out stock checks and support inventory audits
  • Ensure component traceability and compliance with quality procedures
  • Manage non-conforming or quarantined stock
  • Maintain a safe, organised and tidy warehouse environment

Essential

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or dispatch environment
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Physically capable of manual handling duties

Desirable (Attribute More)

  • Experience within aerospace, aviation or regulated manufacturing
  • Experience using EFACS or ERP/stock control software
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Knowledge of component traceability and quality-controlled stock systems
  • Prior experience preparing shipping and courier documentation

Working Hours

  • Monday – Wednesday: 08:00 am – 05:00 pm
  • Thursday: 08:00 am – 04:30 pm
  • Friday: 08:00 am – 12:00 pm
