Job Title: Stores Engineer

Thirsk, UK

We're looking for a Stores Engineer to join our small, close-knit Engineering team within a fast-paced and versatile food flavourings manufacturing facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in keeping engineering stores organised, efficient, and well-stocked to support the smooth running of the site.

The successful candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently. You'll be confident prioritising tasks, managing multiple demands, and making sound decisions in a busy environment. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and proficiently use the CMMS system to effectively manage Engineering inventory.
  • Continuously monitor departmental requirements and inventory usage to ensure stock levels are maintained efficiently.
  • Remain calm, professional, and composed when working under pressure.
  • Liaise effectively with other departments, suppliers, and contractors to maintain positive working relationships at all times.
  • Work independently, managing and prioritising daily workload to meet departmental objectives.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop new skills, and continuously improve to support the role and contribute to the department's success.

You bring

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, engineering stores, inventory, or facilities environment.
  • Confidence using computer systems, with the ability to quickly learn and use our CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System; Maintain X).
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage stock accurately.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, reliable approach with the ability to work independently.
  • A willingness to learn and continuously improve.
