Aircraft Logistics Stores Inspector Apprentice
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with an avid interest in Aircraft Logistics to join us as an Aircraft Logistics Stores Inspector Apprentice. Over the 15-month programme, you will be training by working hands-on, alongside our highly respected, skilled and knowledgeable logistics team at East Midlands Airport.

£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Duties include:
- To be responsible for ensuring that logbooks, training assignments and other documentation are completed accurately, remain legible and are completed on time.
- On a day-to-day basis, responsible to the Stores Supervisor and the Deputy Logistics Manager for the standard of all activities carried out within the scope of the apprenticeship.
- Responsible for ensuring that the requirements of the training provider and the UK CAA and EASA are complied with.
- Responsible for ensuring that any work and training assignments required by the Training Provider are completed accurately, in full and on time.
- May not work unsupervised or sign any Components Release Documents or any other document for which they do not hold authorisation.
- Must be aware of and comply with all DHL Air Ltd Policies and Procedures and respective customer procedures.
- Must comply with any other reasonable instruction given with proper authority, including but not limited to; logistics staff, supervisors and managers.

What you'll learn
- Conduct risk assessments within the working environment.
- Apply safe working practices in line with associated health and safety legislation and company policy.
- Receive products in line with organisational procedures.
- Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures.
- Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
- Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- Support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
- Carry out and record learning and development activities.
- Conduct handover activities.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE in: English (grade 4)
- GCSE in: Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Have the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a busy and changing environment.
- Able to hold an Airside pass.
- Willing and able to travel on company business.
- Passport will be required for international travel.
- Drivers license desirable, or candidates must be willing to work towards this due to the nature of the role.
