Stores Operative
Location: Lincoln (On-Site)
Contract: 6-Month Rolling Contract
Rate: £15.87 per hour PAYE / £21.45 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:00, Friday 08:00–15:30)
Overtime: 1.25x weekdays, 1.5x weekends
IR35: Inside IR35
Medical: Medical check required

Our client is seeking a dedicated and organised Stores Operative to support critical logistics and inventory operations within a fast-paced engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team where you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, tools, and equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, pick, pack, issue, and dispatch inventory while maintaining accurate and auditable records using SAP and manual systems.
- Manage stock movements and inventory control activities to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Prepare and complete Dangerous Goods documentation in line with legislative requirements.
- Manage calibrated tools, safety equipment, and controlled inventory.
- Coordinate LOLER inspections and lifting equipment records.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised stores environment, including regular audits and 5S activities.
- Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual stock checks and inventory audits.
- Support logistics activities and work closely with operational teams to meet business requirements.
- Pack tools and spare parts, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and deadlines are met.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in stores, warehousing, inventory control, or material handling.
- Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing demands.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures and legislation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience within the wind energy, renewables, offshore, engineering, or manufacturing sectors would be advantageous.
