Stores Kitting & Issuing Operative

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Stores Team Leader, the holder of this position will oversee the kitting and issuing of Production areas (MRO and OEM), alongside other user departments at Bedhampton.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving materials from vendors and ensuring correct booking in of goods for stores locations
  • Working in packaging and dispatch areas
  • Flexible support across Stores, Shipping, and Dispatch functions as needed
  • Adhering to stores procedures, safety, manual handling, and environmental regulations

The role will incorporate training in all associated processes while working collaboratively across departments.


Responsibilities

Main Stores

  • General Duties
    • Issue all production materials from stores as scheduled, ensuring batch documentation for traceability
    • Correctly pick parts against kitting requirements, confirming batch numbers and documentation
    • Assist with daily cycle count activities
    • Maintain a neat, tidy environment and contribute to 5S daily activities (teamwork encouraged)
    • Relocate and recategorise stock correctly in the ‘put away’ process
    • Ensure punctual picking of sprares orders for maintenance
    • Participate in the annual stock take
    • Comply with safety, manual handling, and environment policies
    • Track daily performance metrics and suggest process improvements

  • Goods Receiving
    • Verify all incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes
    • Daily target: 130 lines received per day
    • Support unloading piecemeal and supplier deliveries
    • Review received quantities and address discrepancies with relevant departments
    • Inspect, unpack and update ERP system records
    • Ensure inventory accuracy (target: 98%) via daily cycle counts and error resolution

  • Inventory Record Accuracy

    • Maintain accurate part identification, location, and quantity
    • Assist in cycle counting tasks and resolve any discrepancies
    • Ensure transactional traceability and audit trail integrity
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Proactively contribute to Supply Chain and company optimisation efforts

Packing & Dispatch

  • Oversee packing of products and spares for shipment
  • Ensure correct documentation is prepared, copied, and submitted to shipping functions in a timely manner
