About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Stores Person to join QinetiQ Target Systems (QTS) within our Stores Team.

QTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of QinetiQ Group PLC, specialising in the design and manufacture of a range of state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial and Surface Target systems, including the world-leading Banshee target. QTS targets are used to enable realistic weapons test and evaluation and operator training in over 40 countries worldwide, with QTS providing a complete managed service in over 15 of these countries.

What will I be doing?

As a Stores Person, you’ll play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly. Reporting to the Stores Lead, you’ll support goods inwards, kitting, stock control, and dispatch activities — ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high operational standards at all times.

Duties will include:

  • Receiving and accurately processing incoming goods within the ERP system
  • Kitting components and assemblies in line with production requirements
  • Packing goods securely and ensuring correct documentation is included
  • Supporting stock control activities, including stock checks and inventory accuracy
  • Operating a forklift truck (where required)
  • Maintaining accurate system records and data integrity
  • Contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, health, and safety

What do I need?

You’ll have experience working in a stores or warehouse environment, ideally within manufacturing. You’ll be organised, reliable, and take pride in working accurately and safely, with good written and verbal communication skills and a strong team focus.

You’ll also have:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices, including manual handling and hazardous goods
  • Confidence using computer systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • A team-focused, proactive approach
  • Experience operating a forklift truck (a valid Forklift Truck licence is desirable)
