About the Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Storeperson to support the effective operation of our project stores and yard. This role is essential, ensuring materials, plant, tools, and equipment are managed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project requirements.
As part of the team, you will play a key role in maintaining stock levels, coordinating deliveries, and supporting operational teams by ensuring materials are available exactly when and where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the stores/yard, ensuring efficient organisation and safe working conditions.
- Issue and receive materials, tools, plant, consumables, and PPE, aligning with project requirements.
- Maintain accurate stock records and monitor stock levels to meet business needs.
- Provide regular stock reports, highlighting shortages or risks to the team.
- Coordinate deliveries, including vehicle loading/unloading and verifying goods for quality, quantity, and damage.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding faulty/damaged goods, returns, and replacements.
- Support the ordering of materials, consumables, and plant/equipment hire.
- Oversee plant hire processes, including issuing, accepting, and off-hiring equipment.
- Ensure tools and equipment calibrations are maintained where applicable.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and well-organised yard, restricting access to authorised personnel only.
- Work closely with project teams, ensuring timely availability of materials—extended shift support provided when necessary.

Requirements
Essential
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage stock levels and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Collaboration across project and support teams in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to health, safety, and high housekeeping standards.
Desirable
- Knowledge of construction or infrastructure industry operations.
- Full clean driving licence, with HGV licence being an advantage.
- Telehandler licence or hands-on experience operating plant equipment.
- Previous experience in a stores, logistics, or yard-based role.
