Stores Operative
Location: Bradford, England (commutable from Leeds, Batley, Dewsbury, Cleckheaton, and Huddersfield) Contract: Temporary → Permanent after 18 weeks Salary: £13.46 per hour (excellent employee benefits once permanent)
About the Role
A fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive Stores Operative to join a dynamic engineering/manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll:
- Manage materials and stock levels
- Support production teams
- Handle collections/deliveries using the company vehicle
Full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Goods receiving: Booking in materials, verifying paperwork, and updating stock systems
- Stock control: Maintaining inventory accuracy, conducting stock counts, and reporting shortages
- Order picking: Preparing materials, components, and finished goods for production/dispatch
- Driving duties: Conducting collections, deliveries, and supplier runs using the company vehicle
- Warehouse operations: Loading/unloading, manual handling, and housekeeping
- Supporting workshop teams: Providing materials, consumables, and basic stores administration

Skills & Experience Required
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Previous experience in stores, warehouse, or goods-in/out roles
- Confident using basic computer systems
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing (preferred)
- Knowledge of materials, components, or workshop consumables
