Storm Overflow Solutions Specialist

Storm Overflow Solutions Specialists (from Principal to Specialist)

Closing Date: 2026-07-24

Location: Flexible (within our region) – hybrid working (office, site, and home-based)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 (Monday to Friday)

Salary: To be discussed at screening stage

Storm overflows pose significant challenges and are unacceptable to our customers and stakeholders. Our Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force is leading the charge by delivering pioneering, industry-leading solutions to reduce spills and storm overflow reliance while enhancing environmental conditions for communities.

We are currently executing a £1.5 billion programme over the next decade, with plans to expand the team to advance a larger programme of sustainable and innovative interventions against storm overflows.

We are recruiting for new Storm Overflow Solutions Specialist roles (from Principal to Specialist) to join the Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force.

About the Role

A critical technical role within the Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force, ensuring we develop a technically credible programme of works to achieve spills reduction at the right pace and location.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Analysing wastewater catchment performance, modelling scenarios, and proposing reviewing technical solutions.
  • Contributing to the technical design and assurance of the storm overflow programme, providing input, options, challenge, governance, and steering to deliver a technically feasible set of interventions for our AMP8 programme.
  • Undertaking technical assurance of benefits from the storm overflow programme—designing monitoring programmes and performing modelling & analysis to ensure effects are quantified while justifying the PR24 assumption base, securing a circa £2 billion investment.
  • Supporting innovative approaches in collaboration with the Technical Lead and other internal and external thought leaders, including academia, the UK water industry, and supply chain partners.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
