Strategic Account Manager (B2B Software Technology or Professional Services)

The Role

The Strategic Account Manager serves as the pioneering leader for our most critical global accounts, acting as a trusted advisor, strategic partner, and orchestrator for the customer-facing team. This role focuses on transitioning high-value accounts into deep, long-term partnerships, driving mutual growth and co-creating innovative solutions. As a critical extension of leadership, you will shape global commercial frameworks and embed our solutions at the core of your customer’s transformation agenda.

This role owns and leads Seequent’s top 3% of global accounts, ensuring strategic direction and value delivery.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership

  • Become the trusted advisor, embedding yourself in the customer’s business to proactively co-develop solutions driving their long-term success.
  • Lead strategic dialogues, positioning Seequent as a key contributor to their executive-level strategic planning.
  • Deeply understand the customer’s organization, processes, and executive priorities to align solutions for maximum value.
  • Own the engagement cadence, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and facilitating joint strategic planning.

Commercial Leadership

  • Design and execute commercial strategies to maximize account potential and align with global frameworks.
  • Build predictive commercial models for revenue forecasting, opportunity assessment, and risk mitigation.
  • Focus on measurable value delivery, long-term growth, and customer loyalty—not just short-term revenue.

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Lead global internal resources for the account, shaping governance models that meet customer strategy.
  • Build and nurture multi-threaded relationships with board-level executives and C-Suite, facilitating strategic discussions.
  • Influence industry trends and internal product roadmaps by aligning customer needs with Seequent’s vision.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years’ experience in:

  • A B2B software, technology, or professional services environment, focusing on strategic sales and account management for global accounts.

Key Qualifications:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA, MSc) in business or related discipline.
  • Extensive C-suite relationship engagement, with a track record of becoming a trusted strategic partner for executives.
  • History of professional development in engaging senior stakeholders, influence, and trusted advisory roles.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and ability to command room discussions and shape decisions.
  • Data-driven skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Visionary leadership with a consultative mindset, prioritizing long-term planning and client success.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and influence over authority—effective relationship-building.
  • Proactivity and resilience to navigate ambiguity in complex enterprise environments.

Working Conditions

  • Base location: Reading, UK
  • Hyperflexible model: Hybrid role with 3 days on-site, remaining days remote
