The Role

We are seeking a Strategic Account Manager to join our EMEA Account Management (AM) Team. In this role, you will lead the business relationship and customer journey for a portfolio of strategic and high-profile customers. You will be responsible for:

  • Building long-term relationships through collaborative opportunities that embed Sedex as a critical business partner, driving shared value and profitability over the long term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and develop the customer retention and growth strategy.
  • Produce and embed individual Account Management Plans for every customer, setting out defined goals and measures of success.
  • Develop a pipeline of opportunities to manage and measure business growth, retention forecasting, and customers at risk.
  • Set and manage customer expectations and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring all key internal stakeholders are engaged and supportive.
  • Explore and expand the relationship between Sedex and the customer, engaging and demonstrating the value of Sedex beyond the operational team.
  • Proactively explore up-sell opportunities and deliver against revenue KPIs.
  • Actively collaborate in the optimisation of the customer experience journey, sharing knowledge about customer behaviours, problems, and challenges + working with Sedex product teams to develop sustainable solutions.
  • Take overall ownership of every opportunity won, collaborating with internal teams to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage customer renewals and contract negotiations in alignment with internal governance and processes.
  • Promote and embed new tools and services across your customer base.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders, ensuring exposure of customers to key business experts who offer insights into industry challenges and Sedex’s future plans.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

You should demonstrate:

  • 5+ years’ experience in an Account Management or Sales role.
  • Proven track record of growing accounts and driving results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment, independently organising and prioritising work.
  • Strong opportunity and pipeline management skills, with quarterly/monthly target accountability.
  • Experience in managing a full sales cycle, consistently meeting (or exceeding) targets.

Critical Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in creating and strengthening customer and internal relationships, especially with enterprise/executive stakeholders.
  • Innovative and creative problem-solver who exceeds customer expectations.
  • Critical and agile thinking to adapt to an ever-changing landscape.
  • Process improvement experience involving both internal and external parties, with relevant data analysis skills.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and presentation skills, adaptable for all levels of engagement.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and ideally Gainsight.
  • Experience with procurement systems, responsible sourcing, and SaaS would be valuable but is not mandatory.
