Strategic Sales Account Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a Strategic Sales Account Manager to further develop relationships with existing customers, partners, and resellers. The Strategic Sales Account Manager will:
- Focus on prospecting within our existing customer base to uncover pipeline, drive sales cycles, and close business.
- Develop, own, and execute account success plans.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Solution Consultants, Customer Success, Implementation, Operations, Product) to ensure overall expansion.
The Opportunity
Customers have significant expansion opportunities requiring additional sales cycles. These opportunities are often missed during the initial sale or emerge later. This role will work alongside our Customer Success Managers to upsell to ~100 clients.
Key priorities:
- Build executive-level relationships and align on key business goals.
- Ensure clients derive maximum value across all of Tipalti’s solutions.
- Unlock hidden revenue potential and drive growth through multi-threading approvals.
Responsibilities
Execution
- Leverage strategic account planning and execution skills to achieve consistent quota attainment, pipeline generation, and forecast accuracy.
Product & Applied Knowledge
- Be tech-savvy, proficient in SaaS applications, with a deep understanding of Tipalti’s products and Finance/Payments industry trends.
- Translate technical features into compelling business value propositions.

- Accurately maintain account/opportunity data in internal CRM systems.
- Leverage data-driven insights to inform decisions.

- Maniacal focus on Customer Success and Expansion to deliver impactful business benefits.

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Software/SaaS or Financial Tech sales, with a record of consistent quota achievement.
- Sales experience with C-Suite at Emerging Tech, Digital Economy, or Global Organizations highly preferred.
- Proven ability to sell large-scale solutions, drive technology adoption, and expand revenue in existing accounts.
- Skilled at cross-functional collaboration to develop customer success strategies.
- Highly goals-driven with customer success passion.
- Willingness to travel (~25%) to strengthen relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field).
- Management consulting background considered a plus.
