Job Role

To lead, manage and develop an established portfolio of security contracts covering London and the Home Counties. To be responsible for the effective operational and administrative management of the service delivery of the portfolio of client contracts.

We are looking for an experienced security professional, to work in London and the Home Counties who, as the Strategic Account Manager in partnership with our clients, will deliver an effective 1st class security service. You will lead a large team of officers and managers in an exciting fast-paced corporate environment to realise challenging objectives and requirements. With a comprehensive knowledge of the security industry, you’ll ensure your team understand and follow policies, processes and operating procedures, upholding at all times the reputation and integrity of the Unitrust and its clients. You will also support the Senior Management Team in taking a proactive role in the marketing, sales and tendering for new business, as well as developing new business opportunities and leads.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 10 years demonstrable experience in the Security industry (Essential).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role (Essential).
  • A minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience in managing multiple sites/contracts (Essential).
  • An industry recognised qualification (desirable)
  • A valid SIA front-line licence (Essential) IOSH or similar qualified (essential)
  • Employment Law knowledge (essential)
  • Proven management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team (Essential)
  • An ability to deal with exacting client demands
  • Demonstrable experience in managing complex change management processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Experience of writing and presenting risk reviews and business cases
  • Ability to interview, appraise and performance manage individuals.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations in a professional manner.

Duties

Management

  • To have the operational management responsibility for the allocated portfolio of contracts.
  • To liaise with clients to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met and exceeded.
  • Lead by example, demonstrate correct behavioural competencies in addition to being a Security SME
  • To lead and motivate the security teams ensuring the ethos and core values of UniTrust and their clients emanate within their roles and responsibilities
  • To ensure the teams are resilient in providing excellent customer service and security
  • To forge strong successful relationships with other services providers and stakeholders, creating a seamless partnership in providing premier security and customer service.
  • To liaise with all departments at head office and to seek advice and guidance where necessary
  • Ensuring all issues and incidents are dealt with and reported on in a timely, professional and efficient manner to the client and control team
  • Managing the administration and welfare of the site security teams, including induction and continuation training, probation, and setting objectives during annual appraisals.
  • To review, update and contribute to improving standards and procedures to the betterment of the Company and its clients
  • To form part of the senior team in mobilising all new key accounts
  • To support the senior management in the writing and presentation of tenders
  • Actively use initiative to support the Company’s growth strategy and vision
  • Be proactive in identifying potential problems at an early stage and offering practical solutions.
  • Make suggestions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations of the Company

Development

  • Develop relationships with the local Police and community forums.
  • To be forward thinking and be a part of idea generation and innovations.
  • To devise and implement new security procedures where appropriate
  • To develop the teams and ensure training requirements are identified and training programmes implemented.
  • Develop the security knowledge and ethos of site within your team and establish security excellence.
  • To promote, manage and develop best practice working routines throughout the security teams

Other

  • Travel across client locations
  • The nature of the role is such that it is essential that the post holder has and will maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping
  • There will be a requirement for the Strategic Account Manager to attend networking events both inside and outside of normal office hours
  • The post holder’s main working days will be Monday to Friday, however hours are as required. On call 24/7
