Technical Services Support Specialist

About the Role

This Technical Services Support Specialist role is open globally within the UK. The ability to attend the Stapeley office is beneficial.

The Technical Services Support Specialist is responsible for providing advanced data analysis, technical expertise, and strategic support to long-term partner customers and operations. The role works alongside the Technical Services Team, partnering with strategic account managers, commercial teams, and customer stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions, align with business objectives, improve herd performance, and foster long-term value for both customers and the company. This role also supports the commercial team by training them in data concepts, tools, and customer data validation.


Key Responsibilities

Key Account Support

  • Collaborate with strategic and key account teams and customers to:
    • Understand client business goals
    • Analyze production systems and market environments
  • Accurately run and analyze fertility performance reports, providing timely, customer-fit outputs, including Power BI reporting for both single and multiple sites.
  • Own the tool and reporting offering within assigned regions, ensuring knowledge permeates the business through training, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop tailored management tools in Power BI for customer accounts, working directly with account managers and clients to identify needs and purpose.
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations across short- and long-term customer objectives, ensuring outcomes are thoroughly validated for impact.

Customer Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and stakeholders.
  • Present complex concepts in clear, accessible language to support adoption.
  • Conduct training, workshops, and technical sessions internally and for customers.

Data and Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze key account herd performance against performance KPIs.
  • Provide industry-specific benchmarking, progress reports, and ROI analysis for breeding projects.
  • Lead the development of reports, decision-support tools, and educational resources.
  • Proactively perform routine data quality checks, then identify anomalies and undertake investigations.
  • Continuously review and enhance data integrations, with a focus on improving reporting capabilities.

Commercial Teams Training

  • Train commercial teams in:
    • Data validation
    • Software tools (e.g., BoviSync, DairyComp 305, UniformAgri)
    • Customer-facing reports

  • Genuine interest in dairy farming, genetics, and farmer support
  • Willingness to travel and visit farms when required

Requirements

Essential

  • Demonstrated proficiency in on-farm software systems (e.g., BoviSync, UniformAgri, DairyComp305) and experience working with dairy operations
  • Strong working knowledge of Power BI, Microsoft Suite, and other reporting tools
  • Proven expertise in data analysis and turning findings into impactful recommendations
  • Background (or demonstrated interest) in dairy farming, agricultural science, or a related discipline
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the UK

Desirable

  • Experience with milk recording systems or deep understanding of data structures (e.g., NMR, CIS, QMMS)
  • Experience with automated/ scheduled reports in Power BI or similar technologies, including AI
  • Familiarity with reproductive performance metrics in cows
