Strategic Accounts, Business Developer

Strategic Accounts, Business Developer

Location: London, UK Team: Strategic Accounts, Commercial Department Type: Full-time

Company Description

We’re Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do—because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day. We’re the invisible engine driving over 10 billion transactions daily for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you’re booking a holiday, ordering food, renewing a subscription, or checking out online, the odds are our technology powers the payments you don’t see. Our platform helps the world’s most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital commerce at scale.

We thrive on doing career-defining work. Our culture is fast-paced, globally minded, and built on hiring exceptional people who bring conviction, curiosity, and impact. With 20 offices across six continents and London as our headquarters, we’re shaping the future of fintech—and we’ve only just begun.

This is your opportunity to build, grow, and redefine the world’s largest and most strategic merchant relationships as we accelerate enterprise development globally.

The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, driven Strategic Accounts Business Developer to join our London office. This is a pivotal moment in our growth—where you’ll work at the intersection of sales strategy, market intelligence, and account management to revolutionise how we engage with high-value global merchants.

As part of the Strategic Accounts team within our Commercial department, your role will be rapidly evolving, requiring cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product, Solutions Engineering, Marketing, Enablement, and Legal. You must excel in mixing analytical rigor with creative problem-solving to drive enterprise-scale opportunities.

If you’re hungry for success, thrive in ambitious, high-pressure environments, and are eager to shape a key function from the ground up, this could be your career-defining move.

What You Will Do

  • Own strategic account plans and partner with enterprise sales teams to map and develop the end-to-end deal progression strategy for a portfolio of high-value prospects.
  • Serve as the internal methodology expert and trusted advisor—providing deep market intelligence, competitor insights, and tailored solutions for key strategic accounts.
  • Conduct in-depth account analysis, mapping organisational structure, market trends, and competitive positioning to generate insights that accelerate sales cycles and inform global strategy.
  • Leverage AI-driven systems (e.g., Salesforce, 6Sense, and proprietary tools) for predictive analytics, lead optimisation, and pipeline accuracy.
  • Build and nurture deep, multi-threaded relationships with fortune 500 customers, including C-suite stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align Product, Solutions Engineering, and Legal teams in crafting tailored merchant solutions and onboarding strategies.
  • Partner closely with engagement teams to ensure full alignment and understanding throughout the sales journey.
  • Assist senior leadership in co-defining custom pricing, innovation roadmaps, and new-age solutions for enterprise clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
