Role Purpose
The Strategic Business Development Manager is tasked with driving the commercial growth and customer success of Gladstone’s NS platform—the Nova programme—stretching beyond short-term sales to build enduring high-value relationships.
You will:
- Serve as the long-term commercial lead for Nova by identifying and nurturing strategic accounts in the UK.
- Foster deep partnership relationships with senior stakeholders: C-level executives, department heads, and commercial leaders in the leisure, enterprise, and public sector.
- Work closely with internal teams to align customer objectives with Gladstone’s AI-driven platform strategies.
Your role ensures Nova’s trusted partner status is cemented within Gladstone’s core proposition.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
- Lead the growth of a high-value portfolio of accounts, focusing on sectors like leisure, public sector, and enterprise spaces.
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (C-suite, directors, and commercial heads).
- Develop bespoke account strategies—linking customer challenges with how Nova’s AI capabilities can drive their objectives.

Account Growth & Revenue Development
- Develop new business uplift through ** pénétration of targeted accounts**, especially within leisure organizations.
- The Upsell/X-sell opportunities by expanding existing functional solutions to whole customer needs.
- Forecast revenue patterns with noise and contribute actively to annual targets.
Customer Value & Retention
- Deeply understand each customer’s operational challenges and goals
- Position Gladstone as a problem-solver—bridging the divide between complexity and simplified solutions, streamlining processes and improving customer experiences.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure Nova delivers measurable value, embedding trust throughout their customer journey.
Stakeholder & Internal Collaboration
- Act as the customer advocate—translating insights into adjusts product direction, service refinement, and Nova’s development roadmap.
- Align targets across Gladstone’s teams—Sales, Marketing and Implementation for cohesive delivery of account strategies.
Governance & Account Control
- Ensure compliance, contractual risk management, and quality assurance across your accounts.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of CRM, notes, and forecast records.
- Champion continuous improvement of account management and commercial best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
● Proven track record in growing AI-platform-driven sales through strategic engagements (particularly within leisure/fitness sectors). ● Strong commercial instinct with demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts, renewals, and long-term agreements. ● Ability to influence decision-makers at senior (board/executive) levels, establishing credibility swiftly. ● Hands-on experience working in complex organisations, ideally within leisure industry, public sector, health, education, or membership sectors. ● Exquisite communication skills—ability to broken down tech-driven solutions into comprehend ideas.

● Experience in leisure management, SaaS development, or regulated public sector procurement. ● Understandings of membership-based digital transformation landscapes. ● Knowledge of framework agreements and public-sector tenders.
