Strategic Asset Manager

Location: Ashington and/or Durham.

Salary: £58,650 per annum.

£2,142 car allowance.

Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday.

Contract: Permanent

Closing Date: 12-Noon on Friday 10th July.

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Strategic Asset Manager to join our Assets & Property team at Bernicia. This role will be central to shaping our strategic asset management services, investment planning and asset performance functions and comes at a pivotal time following the launch of ‘The Bernicia Effect, Supporting Opportunity’ 2026-31 Corporate Strategy.

About The Strategic Asset Manager Role

This role will involve:

  • Leading the development of a single, high-quality asset data framework, ensuring accurate and aligned data across systems including stock condition, compliance, repairs & maintenance, GIS and customer insight.
  • Driving data-led investment planning, continuously reviewing budgets and programmes to ensure they align with the Asset Management Strategy and deliver long-term value.
  • Modelling and assessing the impact of emerging regulatory, sustainability and performance standards, ensuring the organisation is well-positioned for future requirements.
  • Developing and embedding asset performance frameworks, enabling robust assessment of property performance across the portfolio.
  • Maximising both financial and social return from assets, ensuring they support wider corporate priorities and community outcomes.
  • Providing clear insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making, influencing investment priorities across the business.
