Strategic Asset Manager

Goodman Masson is delighted to be partnering with Local Space to recruit a Strategic Asset Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a financially strong, values-driven housing association at a pivotal stage in the evolution of its Asset Management function. Reporting directly to the Director of Assets & New Business, you'll play a key role in shaping long-term investment strategies, improving asset intelligence and influencing business-critical decisions across a diverse housing portfolio.

If you're passionate about strategic asset management, stock condition and data-led investment planning within social housing, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact while helping improve homes and outcomes for residents.

The Opportunity

As Strategic Asset Manager, you'll lead Local Space's approach to asset intelligence, stock condition data and long-term investment planning.

  • Working closely with the Asset Delivery, Building Safety & Compliance and Finance teams, you'll transform complex asset data into robust investment programmes that support business planning, regulatory compliance and long-term financial sustainability.
  • You'll also become the organisation's subject matter expert for asset modelling, lifecycle planning and Asset Management Systems (AMS), providing strategic insight to senior leadership and the Board.

Why this role stands out

  • Take ownership of the organisation's strategic asset management approach.
  • Shape long-term investment decisions across a growing housing portfolio.
  • Lead the development of 5-year and 30-year investment programmes.
  • Drive improvements in asset intelligence, stock condition data and lifecycle modelling.
  • Partner directly with senior leaders, influencing strategic planning and Board-level decision making.
  • Play a key role in business planning, regulatory compliance and financial sustainability.
  • Work cross-functionally with Asset Delivery, Building Safety & Compliance and Finance.
  • Join a growing Asset Management function with future leadership and line management opportunities.
  • Make a tangible difference by ensuring investment is targeted where it delivers the greatest benefit for residents.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
