About the Role
We are seeking a qualified solicitor to serve as a Strategic Business Development Lead, playing a pivotal role in guiding complex enterprise opportunities and shaping future-ready legal solutions.
In this senior, consultative pre-sales role, you will:
- Build trusted relationships with senior legal stakeholders (horsepower CPOs, managing partners, and GCs).
- Lead discovery-based conversations to uncover challenges, priorities, and decision impact.
- Develop tailored demonstrations showcasing how LexisNexis solutions modernise legal workflows.
- Advocate for confident, value-driven decisions alongside our accounts and strategy teams.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Deal Progression
- Partner with Account Executives and Strategic Account Managers to research prospects, align pursuit strategies, and advance opportunities from qualification through close—new business and expansion alike.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage senior legal leadership (law firm GCs, in-house legal teams) to understand their priorities and position LexisNexis as a trusted partner in legal technology and workforce acceleration.

Discovery & Value Mapping
- Lead assessments of legal workflows (e.g., eDiscovery, contract management, litigation planning) to pinpoint challenges, decision-makers, and improvement opportunities with measurable ROI.

Solution Storytelling
- Translate complex workflows into structured, business-aligned use cases that align LexisNexis solutions with practical, practice-area-specific needs.
- Design and deliver customised demonstrations for both one-on-one and group audiences.

Proof of Concept & Validation
- Develop proof-of-concept engagements to validate value, build confidence, and guide clients through adoption.

Customer-Driven Insights
- Act as a Voice of the Customer, sharing insights with product/sales/marketing/growth teams to inform innovation and positioning.

Partnership & Advocacy
- Represent LexisNexis at industry events, executive briefings, and thought leadership forums.
Requirements
- Qualification: Solicitor in England & Wales with in-house or legal practice experience (ideally 3+ PQE years).
- Experience:
- Background in a leading law firm or large corporation, with exposure to client-facing or stakeholder-facing work.
- Preference for former Finance, Corporate, or Disputes/Litigation solicitors (or analogous experience with complex legal matters).
- Key Skills:
- Credibility-building with senior stakeholders through clarity of thought, subject-matter authority, and professional gravitas.
- Presentation and demonstration expertise—comfortable delivering solutions with both legal and business audiences.
- Tech/integrated workflow insight—strong grasp of how AI and technology enhance legal service delivery.
- Commercial acumen for collaboration in high-stakes, goal-driven environments.
