About The Role

LexisNexis is pioneering change in legal workflows, combining technology and insight to empower law firms and in-house teams. We’re hiring a Strategic Business Development Lead—a qualified solicitor who will partner with our sales teams to shape and drive strategic enterprise opportunities.

In this senior, consultative pre-sales role, you will:

  • Build trusted relationships with senior legal stakeholders
  • Lead discovery conversations and design tailored demonstrations
  • Proactively guide prospective customers to value-driven decisions

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales: Research prospects, craft pursuit strategies, and manage opportunities from qualification to close (new business and expansion).
  • Engage Senior Stakeholders: Understand legal priorities and position LexisNexis as a trusted technology partner for workflow improvement.
  • Drive Adoption:
    • Lead structured discovery and workflow analysis to identify challenges, decision-makers, and opportunities.
    • Translate complex legal workflows into client-centric use cases.
  • Deliver Impact:
    • Design and present tailored demonstrations for varied audiences.
    • Develop proof-of-concept engagements to validate value.
  • Shape Strategy: Share customer insights with product, engineering, marketing, and strategy teams.
  • Represent LexisNexis: Attend industry events, executive briefings, and industry-facing forums.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Solicitor in England & Wales (preferably with 3+ years PQE).
  • Experience:
    • Previously worked in legal practice (law firm) or in-house roles.
    • Background in high-service environments, such as corporate, finance, disputes/litigation, or complex transactions.
  • Mindset:
    • Commercial awareness with a results-driven approach.
    • Strong communication skills—clarity, subject-matter expertise, and persuasive influence.
    • Experience gaining trust with senior leaders through insightful engagement.
  • Tech-Savvy: Passion for leveraging legal technology and AI to enhance workflows.
  • Collaborative Demeanor: Eager to bridge sales, marketing, client, and product teams.
