The Role: Strategic Business Development Lead
You will be a key driver in expanding new business and strategic partnerships in the legal AI and workflow transformation sector.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Account Executives/Strategic Account Managers to:
- Research prospects and craft targeted pursuit strategies.
- Guide opportunities from qualification to close (new business & expansion).
- Handle positioning, stakeholder alignment, and objection resolution.

Build trust with top-tier legal leadership:
- Engage managing partners, practice chairs, and senior in-house counsel.
- Establish our client as a trusted AI and workflow innovation partner.

Diagnose & solve critical legal challenges:
- Conduct senior-level workflow analyses to uncover inefficiencies.
- Identify decision-makers, key champions, and ROI opportunities.
- Translate legal workflows into commercially compelling use cases.

Design & deliver high-impact engagements:
- Insight-led demonstrations & presentations for 1:1, small group, and large-scale audiences.
- Connect workflow insights to product capabilities for measurable outcomes.

Validate & build confidence through proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements:
- Serve as the Voice of the Customer, bridging gaps between legal stakeholders, product teams, and leadership.
- Represent the brand at industry events and executive briefings.
Requirements
Essential Criteria
📜 Professional Qualifications
- US-based candidates: Must hold a JD.
- UK-based candidates: Must be a Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 3+ years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).

🔍 Experience & Expertise
- Minimum 3+ years in a leading law firm (Top 50) or large corporation.
- Relevant practice areas: Corporate, finance, disputes/litigation (other complex fields preferred).
- Proven client-facing experience with senior law firm partners and in-house legal teams.
💡 Legal & AI Technology Acumen
- Ability to establish credibility with legal leadership through:
- Strong executive presence.
- Legal expertise.
- AI workflow fluency.
- Must translate legal workflows and emerging technology trends into tangible value narratives.
🎤 Communication & Influence
- Deliver persuasive presentations and demos—both formal and impromptu (whiteboard-style welcomed).
- Engage legal and business audiences effectively.
🚀 Commercial & Collaborative Mindset
- abilities to:
- Operate in a revenue-accountable, target-driven role.
- Own pipeline and revenue progression.
- Collaborate across sales, marketing, product, and client success.
- Plus: Sales or client-facing business development experience (law firm BD, corporate secondments, or managing law firm accounts).
Optional but Preferred
- Prior experience partnering with law firms or corporations on AI-driven legal innovation projects.
