Our client is a well-known plc and is one of the country's leading technology businesses operating within the aerospace, defence, automotive, and general industrial sectors. Having gone through a recent reorganisation, the group is now well positioned to take advantage of the various growth opportunities that exist in its key markets on a global basis.

Role Overview

The Strategic Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, shaping, and developing medium-term (2 to 5 years) strategic growth opportunities across the aerospace and defence markets. The role focuses on positioning the group before sourcing decisions are made by engaging customers during industrialisation, qualification planning, supply chain restructuring, and manufacturing footprint decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a new position in the Group and will suit somebody who has a strong understanding of the UK Aerospace sector, including qualification processes and industrial supply chains.
