Role Overview The Strategic Business Director will play a critical role in executing EMIS’s growth strategy by significantly increasing penetration within organizations that align with our ideal customer profile. These customers primarily operate across the Corporate, Professional and Advisory Services, and Government sectors.
This role represents a new go-to-market approach for EMIS, designed to address a significant white space opportunity in developed markets, with a primary focus on the US and EMEA. The Strategic Business Director will manage a defined portfolio of named enterprise organizations, driving strategic, centralized engagement at senior levels to unlock untapped demand and establish scalable, enterprise-wide partnerships.
Working closely with Account Managers, integration specialists, and senior stakeholders, this role ensures customers are deployed on the most appropriate EMIS solutions while maximizing long term value for both the customer and the business.
Key Responsibilities Own and develop strategic relationships with a defined set of named enterprise customers across Corporate, Professional Services, and Government verticals. Engage senior decision makers and central economic buyers to understand enterprise wide data needs, including API, data feeds, and AI driven use cases. Lead enterprise level commercial discussions for centralized agreements, working collaboratively with existing Account Managers to ensure alignment and continuity. Partner closely with internal API, integration, and product teams to assess existing and emerging use cases and recommend the most appropriate EMIS solutions. Support the review of existing API agreements within the customer base to ensure solution fit and aligns with evolving integration capabilities. Coordinate account strategies clearly and transparently with internal stakeholders, ensuring no financial disadvantage to Account Managers when enterprise agreements absorb existing contracts. Contribute to shaping EMIS’s enterprise go to market motion by sharing market insights, customer feedback, and best practices across teams.

Collaboration Model Existing EMIS agreements will continue to be owned, renewed, and managed by current Account Managers. The Strategic Business Director will collaborate with Account Managers on growth opportunities involving expanded geographies, increased user access, or API/feed solutions to ensure appropriate value capture. Clear communication, shared accountability, and joint account planning are central to success in this role.

Qualifications & Experience Proven experience in enterprise sales, strategic account management, or business development within data, SaaS, or information services. Strong track record of engaging senior stakeholders and navigating complex, global enterprise organizations. Established professional network within Corporate, Professional Services, Financial Services, and/or Government sectors, with the ability to leverage relationships to drive strategic growth. Experience selling API, data, analytics, or technology enabled solutions is highly desirable. Ability to work across functionally influence outcomes without direct authority. Strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
