Strategic Commissioning Manager – Adult Social Care (Long Term Conditions) – BCP Council
Starting salary: £53,460 (pro rata for part-time colleagues)

About the Role
Strategic Commissioning Manager (Adult Social Care, Long Term Conditions Team)
BCP Council’s Adult Social Care Commissioning service seeks a highly motivated Strategic Commissioning Manager to lead intermediate care provision and develop brokerage services in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead brokerage services to improve health, wellbeing, and care outcomes for vulnerable adults and their carers.
- Collaborate with NHS partners to identify and drive service development, ensuring effective joint working.
- Manage and inspire the Adult Social Care brokerage function, delivering flexible, high-quality support for internal and external customers.
- Contribute to contract planning, brokerage improvements, and broader business strategy across Adult Social Care (ASC).
- Establish robust project management for the work programme, ensuring delivery across the service area.
- Ensure compliance with Care Act requirements, procurement standards, contracting frameworks, and budget oversight.
- Promote best-value services, monitoring budgets and addressing variances promptly.

About You (Requirements)
To excel in this role, you’ll demonstrate:
- Degree-level education in adult social care or extensive experience in commissioning (intermediate care, brokerage, or long-term conditions).
- Expertise in involving service users/stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Strong leadership in change management, service improvement, and outcome delivery.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory duties, and best practice in adult care commissioning and contracting.
