Shape the future of communities at scale
Are you experienced in identifying and bringing forward large-scale development opportunities? Do you thrive on building partnerships, unlocking strategic sites and creating places that will make a lasting difference for generations to come?
We're looking for a Strategic Development Manager to play a key role in delivering Bromford Flagship LiveWest's (BFL) growth ambitions. Working within our Strategic Development team, you'll identify, secure and progress major development opportunities across the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor, helping us create high-quality homes and thriving communities where people can truly flourish.
This is a rare opportunity to influence projects at the earliest stages, from site identification and partnership development through to planning and investment approval, creating the foundations for transformational places at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
As Strategic Development Manager, you'll take ownership of large, complex projects, leading them from initial opportunity through land acquisition and partnership agreements, into the planning process and onward to successful handover for delivery.
- You'll work closely with internal teams, consultants, landowners, local authorities and development partners to shape viable, sustainable schemes that align with our strategic objectives.
- Along the way, you'll manage development appraisals, oversee project budgets, secure internal approvals and provide clear reporting on opportunities, risks and progress.
- A key part of the role will be building and maintaining strong relationships across the development sector, helping BFL identify innovative ways to deliver new homes and communities through a range of partnership and delivery models.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
