About the Role
Citi’s Markets division is a global leader in trading, sales, and structuring across asset classes, including equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies. Their Strategic Equity Solutions (SES) platform delivers bespoke financing and structured products—such as equity margin lending, NAV/fund share financing, and structured equity derivatives—to elite clients like hedge funds, alternative asset managers, and institutional investors.
This Analyst role sits within the SES Structuring and Origination team in London, where you’ll design and execute tailored solutions across the full deal lifecycle, collaborating closely with trading, sales, legal, and risk teams. The position demands technical precision and commercial acumen, placing you at the heart of Equities’ highest-growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Reporting:
- Craft customised marketing materials for clients across EMEA jurisdictions, tailoring financial products (margin loans, derivatives, buybacks) to bespoke needs.
- Compile daily client reports to monitor live transactions and portfolio performance accurately.

Pricing & Modelling:
- Develop and maintain advanced pricing models for structured equity derivatives and financing products, incorporating:
- Dividend assumptions
- Corporate action scenarios
- Stock-specific risk factors
- Ensure pricing remains competitive and data-driven.

Business Origination:
- Partner with trading and sales teams to discover and originate new deals, offering commercially viable structures and responding to client inquiries with precision.
- Translate complex structural detail into clear, client-friendly terms.

- ISDA schedules
- Bespoke financing agreements
- Work with risk and legal teams to align terms with operational soundness.

Risk Management & Compliance:
- Monitor live structured positions while conducting portfolio-level risk assessments (credit, market, liquidity).
- Escalate concerns and ensure alignment with internal governance frameworks.

Operational Excellence:
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance structuring tools, internal systems, and workflow efficiency.
- Drive automation and scalable solutions for the desk’s operational processes.
Requirements
- Open to financial markets, equity derivatives, and financing: A passion for navigating this complex landscape.
- Quantitative & Financial Modelling Background:
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in a numerate discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Financial Engineering, or related STEM field is ideal).
- Hands-on experience applying modelling skills to live product structuring.
- Technical & Structural Depth:
- Expertise in equity derivative products, including:
- Vanilla options
- Bespoke payoffs
- Equity financing instruments
- Ability to model, price, and document transactions independently.

- Credible stakeholder interactions with clients, traders, and risk teams, bridging technical complexity into clear, actionable insights.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Python, VBA, or equivalent tools to build, automate, and maintain pricing/scalability frameworks.
- Willingness to contribute to technology-driven projects for the desk.
