Strategic Finance Business Partner (Capital & Projects)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Finance Business Partner (Capital & Projects) to play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering North Northamptonshire Council’s ambitious capital programme.

North Northamptonshire Council was established in 2021, bringing together four districts and part of a county council to form one of the largest unitary councils in the country. Since then, we have been on a significant transformation journey, building a strong “One Council” culture and establishing the financial foundations to support sustainable, high-quality services for our residents.

This role sits at the heart of that journey. You will be a trusted strategic advisor, working closely with senior officers to ensure that our capital investment programme is financially robust, well-governed and delivers maximum value for our communities.

The role also requires an outward-looking perspective, anticipating the financial implications of emerging policy changes, funding reforms and wider economic pressures, and translating these into actionable insight for the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead, influence and shape the Council’s approach to capital investment and major projects.

Interviews are to be held week commencing 20th July.

What will you be doing?

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
