About the Role
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping, coordinating, and delivering structured business development, client engagement, and market positioning across WSP’s Earth, Environment, and Sustainability portfolio.
Core Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development & Client Engagement:
- Translate portfolio strategy into practical growth activities by:
- Strengthening relationships with corporate clients
- Opening access to new decision-makers
- Identifying emerging market opportunities
- Coordination multi-disciplinary work winning efforts (e.g., environmental risk, sustainability, planning, climate resilience, digital solutions)
- Lead client insight-driven engagement programs to improve relationship depth and access to senior stakeholders (C-suite, influencers, procurement teams).
- Translate portfolio strategy into practical growth activities by:

Market & Pipeline Growth:
- Identify target clients in existing, adjacent, and emerging markets.
- Turn market intelligence and technical capability into qualified opportunities, ensuring a stronger forward pipeline.

Client Feedback & Improvement:
- Design a cross-portfolio client feedback process to:
- Gather consistent input
- Translate insights into client experience enhancements
- Improve future project positioning and delivery confidence.

Market Profiling & Reputation Building:
- Work with marketing and communications to increase visibility of portfolio strengths (e.g., thought leadership, case studies, campaigns).
- Raise awareness among priority sectors where environmental and sustainability capabilities intersect.

- Strategic Winning Support:
- Assist bid teams with early opportunity positioning, value propositions, and capture planning.
- Contribute to serial winning themes, positioning statements, and client intelligence packages.

How Success Will Be Measured
A performer in this role will deliver: ✅ Active relationship programs with priority clients (quarterly reviews) ✅ Improved senior stakeholder access and visibility of client priorities ✅ Expanded cross-selling efforts between Sustainability/Environment capabilities and the wider firm ✅ A balanced pipeline quality with clear ownership and capture planning ✅ Consistent client feedback driving transformation in delivery and relationships ✅ Stronger market positioning in targeted sectors
Measurable Outcomes
High Priority
- Maintain quarterly engagement plans (client touchpoints, stakeholder snapshots) for priority accounts
- Secure quarterly senior access (proactive sponsorship, joint work planning)
- Drive pipeline growth—align quarterly reviews with sector/portfolio growth plans
Medium Priority
- Establish client feedback routines (scrutiny + action trackers)
- Deliver profile-raising activities (events, case studies, campaigns)
Support Priorities
- Scalable cross-selling (aligning with framework-based opportunities)
- Strengthen technical proposition alignment with client needs
Qualifications & Characteristics
