Strategic Marketing Lead – Paediatric Vaccines
Location: United Kingdom (minimum 2 days/week on-site in Moorgate, London; full-time) Reports to: Vaccines & Public Health Marketing Director
About the Role
An enterprise-minded leader who defines and delivers the long-term portfolio, brand and customer strategy for our Paediatric Vaccines business in the UK. This includes Enflursa® (RSV), ProQuad® (MMRV), Varivax® (varicella), and MMRVAXPRO® (MMR).
The role ensures alignment between global priorities and UK market needs, driving portfolio growth, lifecycle optimisation, forecasting excellence and investment prioritisation. The Strategic Marketing Lead shapes future growth opportunities, influences commercial decision-making and ensures public health impact is maximised through market shaping and future business development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management
- Define and own the long-term portfolio, brand and customer strategy, ensuring alignment between:
- Global priorities
- UK market dynamics
- Business objectives
- Lead strategic planning processes, setting:
- Portfolio priorities
- Growth ambitions
- Success measures to drive sustainable business performance
Stakeholder & Market Insight-Driven Decision-Making
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key external stakeholders through:
- Local and international congresses
- Translate customer insights, market intelligence, competitive developments, regulatory changes and performance data into actionable strategic recommendations
- shape portfolio strategy, market-shaping opportunities and customer-focused decision-making
Strategic Portfolio Development & Financial Oversight
- Develop and maintain portfolio strategies for:
- Product launches
- Lifecycle management
- Customer engagement
- Long-term portfolio growth
- Lead portfolio investment planning and resource prioritisation, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and measurable business impact
- Accountable for:
- Forecasting assumptions
- Demand planning oversight
- Brand budget management
- Strategic input into financial planning
- Monitor portfolio performance to identify growth optimisation opportunities
- Conduct strategic scenario planning and environmental assessments to:
- Anticipate future healthcare landscape changes
- Proactively shape market opportunities

Cross-Functional Leadership & Governance
- Represent the UK business in:
- Global and regional forums
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, Field Teams) to:
- Integrate customer-focused strategies
- Maximise portfolio performance
- Provide strategic commercial input for:
- External engagement activities
- Healthcare system priorities
- Customer outcome improvements
- Champion strategic excellence by:
- Fostering a customer-centric, insight-driven culture
- Supporting organisation-wide capability development
Regulatory & Ethical Compliance
- Ensure Commercial Signatory alignment (advantageous but not essential)
- Apply company policies, governance requirements, and ABPI Code of Practice in all marketing activities
Skills & Competencies Required
