- Protection Platform: A B2B2C marketplace used by 15,000+ advisors, powering 16% of UK life insurance policies

About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Strategic Partnerships Manager to join our RevOps & Protection Platform team. You will:
- Acquire new insurer partnerships for the Protection Platform
- Maximise long-term value from existing insurer and strategic partnerships
- Drive operational growth while maintaining strong, commercial relationships
This role requires partner leadership, contract management, and transformational drive—balancing partner needs with product evolution and business goals. You’ll need to be a confident influencer who challenges status quo with analytical rigor and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
Driving Mutual Partner Value
- Own long-term success, ensuring revenue growth, efficiency, and adherence to strategic roadmaps
- Identify opportunities to boost partner performance (e.g., policy reach, operational speed, customer experience)
- Regularly assess and adjust partnership commercial outcomes for alignment

Partner Management & Governance
- Build trusted, senior-stakeholder relationships across:
- Underwriting, claims, operations, sales, technology, and leadership
- Lead daily and strategic governance meetings, ensuring accountability
- Be the Primary Escalation Point for partnership issues, resolving problems pragmatically
Influence Change & Product Evolution
- Drive engagement on product roadmap initiatives, secure necessary partner buy-in
- Proactively push back on objectives that hinder product scalability
- Align partner constraints with internal innovation goals at pace
Partnership Development & Growth
- Manage partnerships from sales/commercial negotiations to retention, with clear success criteria
- Develop deep, trusted relationships with insurers and strategic partners
- Drive upsell, cross-sell, and new product adoption opportunities within existing partnerships
Performance & Optimisation
- Track partner performance vs. commercial & strategic objectives
- Use data insights to influence prioritisation, decision-making, and investment
- Proactively resolve performance or value issues
Market & Product Leadership
- Act as the insurer representative to internal teams, sharing feedback
- Monitor industry trends and regulations impacting partner value
- Represent UnderwriteMe in industry panels and events
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria
✔ 5+ years’ experience in managing insurer/enterprise partnerships in insurtech, insurance, fintech, or SaaS ✔ Strong ability to ** drive complex change** and improve ongoing partner performance ✔ Deep understanding of insurance underwriting models, product dev & economics ✔ Commercially confident with experience influencing Executives & strategic leaders ✔ Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills ✔ Demonstrates tenacity and resilience in pursuit of commercial goals ✔ Strategic thinker with strong analytical and influence capabilities
