Location: Warrington
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Office-based

Responsibilities
As Strategic Planning Manager, you will:
- Lead the planning function across a varied portfolio of projects, ensuring planning applications are delivered successfully.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to your team.
- Collaborate with internal specialists, external consultants, and Local Authorities to drive projects from concept through to approval.
- Support the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of planning professionals, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
- Planning Strategy: Manage planning projects across minerals, waste, environmental, and land development sectors.
- Technical Oversight: Prepare, review, and oversee planning applications, planning statements, and supporting documentation.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate multidisciplinary technical input, including ecology, highways, environmental, and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) specialists.
- Continuous Improvement: Strengthen and develop the company’s in-house planning capability while driving improvements across the planning function.
Ideal Candidate
Are you a confident leader with strong technical planning expertise and excellent relationship-building skills?
Our ideal candidate has:
- Proven experience in planning, ideally across minerals, waste, environmental, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing or mentoring planning professionals.
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and planning application process.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence and business objectives.
- A collaborative leader who enjoys developing people and building positive working relationships.

Formal Qualifications and Requirements:
- RTPI or RICS qualification (or working towards chartered status).
- Demonstrable experience managing planning applications from inception through to determination.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
