The Role:
Senior Strategic Planning Manager
You will deliver clear, focused strategic planning recommendations for International clients and support in the improvement & evaluation of local market strategic planning output. In an era increasingly defined by the impact of technology on consumer and marketing behaviour, you will deliver progressive solutions that create success for clients leveraging the latest marketing techniques and opportunities.
As an Agent of Change, you will bring energy, curiosity and emotional intelligence to every interaction. You help turn complexity into clarity, data into meaning and ambition into action. You champion our clients’ vision, anticipate their needs, and ensure our strategic planning work is two steps ahead.
You operate as a core part London‑based International team, working in close collaboration with International and local strategic planning experts.

Responsibilities:
Client Delivery & Relationship Building:
- Build a close, proactive working relationship with client and agency stakeholders
- Translate clients marketing challenges and briefs into clear and compelling recommendations
Strategic Planning:
- Work with the Strategy lead and other region teams to deliver compelling response to briefs
- Brand campaigns, product launches, seasonal campaigns, annual recommendations, always-on solutions and e-commerce
- Best practice guidelines, campaign playbooks, specific techniques (eg. Attention Planning)
- Develop the systematic use of agency platforms and capabilities to add value to client recommendations
- Leverage new Omni capabilities and agentic solutions responsibly to add value to solutions and improve productivity
Audience definition and insights:
- Develop audience recommendations, using syndicated and digital data-sets
- Deliver growth mapping – identifying sources of business and the solutions to unlock them
- Work closely with digital specialists to use platform and 3rd party audience data to enrich audience definition and insights and also, how to translate audiences into activatable segments
- Identify the right balance of audience and ‘personal’ communications and work with specialists to convert theory into action
Centralised Activation & Hub Coordination:
- Work closely with central activation teams to translate strategic planning into implementation plans for activation
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the strategic planning in activation and appropriate measurement (eg. For audience solutions, customer-journey based targeting, contextual / cultural impact, personalization)
Evaluation & Reporting:
- Define and calibrate measurement frameworks and KPIs in coordination with Marketing Science and digital experts
- Provide insights and persuasive, client-facing narrative to performance – linking results to strategy and the client’s business objectives
Network Elevation:
- Work with the International client team to develop and deploy strategic recommendations and guidelines
- Define evaluation criteria and evaluate market recommendations
- Collaborate with market planning teams to improve their narratives, capability utilization and efficacy of their local recommendations

Project & Workflow Management:
- Keep client teams up to date with developments and project status
- Manage projects and client deliverables in a timely fashion to achieve deadlines
Innovation & impact:
- Identify innovation opportunities and test / learn / scale solutions to address client challenges / priorities
- Work with agency experts to develop and evaluate specific opportunities; eg. Partnerships, media 1sts
- Create case-studies, under-pinned by performance results for internal sharing and industry-facing awards
Relationships:
- Primary (day‑to‑day): Client strategic planning function and relevant teams
- Internal: Strategic Planning functions across the agency. Client Experience and digital specialists
- Network: Work in close collaboration with local agency teams – a go to point for planning support
Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom’s corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
