Strategic Procurement Specialist
A Snapshot of Your Day
Join Siemens Energy as a Strategic Procurement Specialist and become a vital part of our Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Procurement Team! In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to create a competitive, transparent, and sustainable supply chain. You will engage in supplier negotiations, manage contracts, and implement strategic sourcing initiatives that contribute to affordable clean energy. Your efforts will drive productivity, quality, and digitalization, making a significant impact on our mission.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Implement commodity strategies and define local/regional material field strategies for non-pooled commodities.
- Plan negotiations, establish awarding strategies, and prepare sourcing board approvals while aligning with pooling opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts at local, regional, or multi-site levels, focusing on pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Manage relationships with assigned suppliers, contributing to the EcoSystem commodity strategy and developing a preferred supplier list.
- Analyze market trends and leverage insights to optimize procurement strategies while monitoring supplier performance and driving cost-out initiatives.
What You Bring
- Preferably 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or project management within a complex, global environment.
- Strong commercial, contractual, and project management skills, complemented by outstanding Excel proficiency for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with component manufacturing processes and quality standards, along with experience working with a global supplier base in a matrix organization.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or advanced higher education is preferred.
