Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager - Switchboards & Converters
Job Description Summary
GE’s Power Conversion & Storage business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime, and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives, and control technologies.
We have a steeped heritage in design and manufacture of complex electrical motors and generators serving customers around the globe in a wide range of sectors such as Marine, Oil & Gas, Naval and Industry.
Reporting to Senior Sourcing Leader, working within System’s business unit as a successful Strategic Sourcing Commodity manager; you are responsible for full wing to wing Sourcing process for the assigned commodities and related projects. Knowledge and experience within electrical panels is mandatory.
Job Description
Responsibilities;
Knowledgeable in formulating ‘Commodity Strategy’ based on historical data, future project’s demand, and other key indicators
Lead the execution of the local sourcing strategy in line with Global commodity strategy guidance; deliver a competitive advantage by driving the strategic supplier initiatives, selection, development, and consolidation to ensure optimal business performance.

Execute across the purchase base, with full accountability for meeting deflation (savings), usage, cash and preferred supplier targets.
Carry out in depth cost breakdown analysis and negotiate lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) within Local & Global supply base
Knowledgeable in supplier Contract Negotiation working with Legal teams
Manage & lead risk mitigation plans for assigned commodity
Support bidding team with RFQs (Lowest possible TCO & lead times) in line Customer expectations to win new business
Identify, select, develop, audit new suppliers and support their onboarding along with quality team
Ability to lead Make Vs Buy decision metrics
Undertaking the continuous review of supplier performance against quality, cost, delivery and risk metrics (Supplier Scorecard) to ensure we have Best in Class supply chain
Lead Supplier Business Reviews to build the strategic relationship with preferred suppliers
Lead Sourcing Board Reviews (Management Review Board) for Commodity Strategy & Project Sourcing Strategy
Drive lowest cost of poor quality (CoPQ) metrics along with SQIE
Support Warranty team to get right support from suppliers to resolve Customer issue and improve process/product

Maintaining compliance with GEV’s policies & procedures
Qualifications / Requirements;
Bachelor’s degree within Technical/Engineering preferably Electrical/ Electro-mechanical
8+ years of experience within Electrical Panels like Switchboards and converters/drives
CIPS (desirable)
Relevant experience within manufacturing /engineering environment
Ability to develop Sourcing Strategy
Ability to understand legal terms and contract negotiation
Ability and willingness to travel nationally & internationally as required
Ability to manage small team of sourcing specialists in future

Efficient with SAP, MS Office tools (Excel, Power point), Power BI (desirable)
Ability to communicate at appropriate levels (Global teams, Senior leadership etc)
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Analytic capabilities and operating rigor
Hands-on and ability to handle multiple priorities in a high demanding environment
Cross-functional openness and Team-player attitude
Previous Team management experience is desirable
