Strategic Sourcing Manager

Location: Global (remote-first with presence in 30+ countries) About the Role: Precisely is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead category management for indirect spend areas, including:

  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Marketing
  • Facilities
  • Finance
  • Travel
  • Contingent Workforce (contractors/outsourcing)
  • Operations

This high-visibility role requires holders to:

  • Drive sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle (RFPs, negotiations, renewals).
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across legal, finance, privacy, and security teams to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Apply a data-driven mindset and AI digital tools to enhance procurement decisions.
  • Own end-to-end sourcing initiatives with accountability for cost savings and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy:

    • Develop cost-optimization strategies across indirect spend categories.
    • Identify, evaluate, and execute savings initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • End-to-End Sourcing:

    • Lead RFPs, negotiations, and supplier contract reviews with full accountability.
    • Set timelines and align stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
  • Contract & Compliance Coordination:

    • Liaise with Legal, Privacy, InfoSec, AI Council, and Finance teams to review contracts.
    • Proactively resolve delays to accelerate approvals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build relationships with senior leadership to understand business priorities.
    • Influence decisions that support procurement goals at all organizational levels.
  • AI & Data Analytics:

    • Utilize AI-driven tools to analyze savings opportunities and supplier performance.
    • Generate insights that enhance procurement decision making.

  • Supplier Management:

    • Proactively monitor supplier performance, address risks, and escalate issues.
    • Maintain market intelligence on pricing trends and emerging technologies.
  • Program Ownership:

    • Contribute to or lead vendor management initiatives or procurement policy rollouts.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement and sourcing roles.
  • Proficiency in procure-to-pay (P2P) systems (e.g., Ariba, Coupa).
  • Experience leading sourcing initiatives for indirect spend categories (HR, Marketing, Facilities, Finance, Operations).
  • Knowledge of procurement principles, contract types (MSA, SaaS, Licensing), and financial analysis.

AI Proficiency:

  • Comfortable using generative AI tools like Microsoft Copilot or Claude for tasks such as:

    • Content drafting (contracts, reports).
    • Research and trend analysis.
    • Data summarization and visualisation.
  • Ability to evaluate AI outputs critically and apply them to procurement decision making.

  • Openness to adapting to new AI tools as they evolve.

Preferred (Bonus):

  • Experience with Coupa, Asana, or similar P2P system platforms.
