Strategic Supply Chain Mgr - 12 months, EU Other Hardlines
Description
Join Amazon’s largest Product Family in multiple top locations and impact our supply chain across Europe. As a Hardlines Strategic Supply Chain Manager you will build an in depth understanding of Amazon's commercial frameworks, operational processes and programs. Underpinned by this, you will work with our largest vendors to drive supply chain collaboration and improve the strategic operations set up. Your goal will be to maximize product availability for our customers while reducing our overall cost and time to serve.
Key job responsibilities
You will optimize key goals through effective program management. The goals include product availability, helping vendors deliver to Amazon’s standards, ensuring vendors accept our returns or pitching Supply Chain Programs to reduce cost. You will leverage data to investigate and deliver improvements in key supply chain metrics. You will identify and develop scalable solutions to key operational challenges, both internal and external with Vendors. You will own and manage multiple projects, working across central program teams and category teams to improve EU Hardlines supply chain/operations - from development through to delivery. You will frequently partner with Category teams to contribute to the development of the long-term strategy for category availability and inventory management.
A day in the life
As you enter one of our retail offices in London, Madrid, Milan, Munich or Paris and grab a first cup of coffee or tea with your colleagues you begin to look forward to your day. You will spend roughly 70% of your time working with our most important vendors by aligning with your internal partners in vendor management and central tech teams before reaching out to the vendors themselves to discuss improvement opportunities. You will carve out roughly 30% of your time to move forward on projects you own or contributing too that will create lasting impact across large cohorts of our vendor base and supply chain.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
