We're seeking a Strategic Technical Programme Manager to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact for our major Retail Managed Service client.
Please note, this is an initial 3-6 month PAYE umbrella contract that will require onsite working in London 2-3 days per week.
Summary
As a Strategic Technical Programme Manager, you will transform how the Data Tech team operates by establishing clear governance, structure, and end-to-end delivery processes. This role will define inter-team dependencies, create operational frameworks, and bring strategic direction to our entire data technology function. You will be the driving force behind building a cohesive, well-organised team that delivers with precision and impact.
You Will
- Own the end-to-end delivery flow across the entire Data Tech team, establishing clear processes and accountability
- Define how teams support and feed into one another, creating seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Develop and implement programme governance structures that enhance operational efficiency
- Lead strategic planning and prioritisation of technical initiatives across the data function
- Mentor and guide technical team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage stakeholder communications and ensure alignment between technical delivery and business objectives
- Monitor programme health, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Build scalable processes and documentation that support team growth and sustainability

Ideally, We'd Like
- Proven experience in a senior technical programme management or delivery leadership role within a technology-driven environment
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex, cross-functional technical teams
- Strong background in data technology, data engineering, or related technical domains
- Experience establishing governance frameworks and operational structures from the ground up
- Excellent strategic thinking and the ability to translate business objectives into technical delivery plans
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and technical teams at all levels
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments where you can drive meaningful organisational change
